Finance minister Louis Paul Motaze has laid the foundation stone for a modern custom head office for the Northwest region. This was on Tuesday January 23, 2024
The New Custom Head office is situated at the Custom Junction, Station Bamenda, beside the Gendarmerie Legion.
The building is estimated to cost one billion two hundred and eighty million (1,280,000,000) francs and to be realized in 36 months. Construction work has already started on the site.
Minister Motaze also used his visit to launch activities ahead of the World Custom Day, observed every 26 January.
The building of an ultra-modern Custom office in the region comes as the Northwest Regional Assembly is finalizing plans with the custom department for the construction of a dry port in Bamenda.
