Some 621,253 voters are casting their ballot for a new president today in some 2500 polling stations across the Northwest Region.

The exercise that started early this morning (8 am) was dampened by heavy rains that affected most of the region. But by midday the rains had subsided in most parts and voting was going on without incidents.
In Bamenda, polling has been going on without any incident this far. Northwest Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique after voting at the Public Works Department beside the Military Camp Station, went on to visit different polling stations to experience first hand the voting process.
Speaking to City Web (BamendaOnline) at GS Old Town, the governor said ” the polling stations were open since. at 8 am ” all over the Northwest region and that” the political parties have been mobilizing and ELECAM” adding he hoped for a peaceful process and for counting to start as soon as the polling closes at 6 pm.

Else where Former PM Philemon Yang and Senator Ndohsirri Neba voted at the GS Station.

A tour of different polling stations by Cityweb at GS Bamenda Station, PWD Bamenda, GPS Bamenda Old Town, Gas Old Town, BCC Council, and GMI Bamenda shows a hugely even free voting in Bamenda.
Sofar turnout has not been impressive with very few person at the different polling stations. But this could be due to the twins that started earlier this morning limiting mobility.
