
Dream Team FC of Bamenda have emerged champions of the 2024/2025 North West Regional football league. This following their triumph on penalties, during the finals played on Sunday August 17, at the University of Bamenda field.
A highly entertaining final, saw defending champions Options Sports Academy dominating proceedings throughout majority of the game. Though the first segment was lacking in momentum and scoring chances, it was Options Sports Academy who stepped up their game after the break, and kept goalkeeper Ngam Leonard on constant alert.
Sergeo Marc Akinibom and Oris Ambe Hanye, were live wires up front for Options, and were constantly targeted by the experienced defense of Dream Team under the command of Aminu Iliasu, Acha Aristee and Boma Roy.
Sergeo Marc Akinibom thought he had put Options Sports Academy in front at the 75th minute, when goalkeeper Ngam Leonard failed to properly deal with a free kick, as Sergeo slotted to rebound to the back of the net, but was flagged offside.

Zero all after 90 minutes, the game went straight to penalty shootout, with Dream Team FC winning 5#3. Goalkeeper Ngam Leonard once more was decisive from the spot, as he saved one penalty, before scoring the match winning penalty, as Dream Team FC emerges North West champions and will represent the region at the National interpools, which is expected to take place in Yaounde from September 01 to 14, 2025.
Individual Recognitions
Despite their defeat in the final, Options Sports Academy swept all but one of the individual awards.
Sergeo Marc Akinibom was named man of the match with his scintillating performance in the final, while his teammate Oris Ambe Hanye was named Best player of the North West Regional league.

Goalkeeper Lume Chick Hanta of Options Sports Academy was named Best Goalkeeper of the season, haven kept Nine clean sheets in 13 games this season, and keeping five consecutive clean sheets in five games at the Mini interpools.

Coach Adamu Musa Danladi was named Best coach of the North West Regional league.

Atah Blaise of SIMAF FA, won the golden boot with 12 goals, despite the fact that his team was eliminated in the group stage.

Situation in other regions
So far, seven out of the 10 regions have already had their champions. The Adamawa Regional league concluded on Sunday, with Olympique De Meiganga defeating Girondins Athletics 1#0 to emerge champions. Over in the North Region, Mintack FC De Septentrion, beat Krimi FC of Garoua 2#0 in the final on Sunday.

Semi-finals of the Center Regional league were played on Sunday, with Foudre of Akonolinga and Mintack FC De Haut Sanaga, qualifying for the finals.
