Cameron Announces Big Catch-up Vaccination

Cameroon has announced a mass vaccination catch-up campaign across the national territory for children aged zero to five years and adolescent from nine to 14 years as from September 23, 2024.

Information released by the Northwest Expanded Program for Immunization – EPI indicates that the campaign dubbed “Big Catch-up” will be in three phases and will cover some 80 priority health districts throughout the 10 Regions of the country.

The three phases will roll out as follows

  • 1st Round: September 23 to 29, 2024
  • 2nd Round: November 02 to 08, 2024
  • 3rd Round: December 06 to 12, 2024

The catch-up campaign is part of the implementation of the Global Agenda for Immunization 2030.

The campaign according to public health officials aims to catch up zero-dose children, incompletely vaccinated or under-vaccinated children. Many health interventions will be carried out during this campaign.
