Hon. Ngala Gerard MP for Nkambe Central has praised the Presidential Plan For Reconstruction and Development of the Northwest and Southwest regions (PPRD) for bringing peace and development to the Northwest Region.
Hon. Ngala speaking after the holding of the 7th session of the PPRD for the Northwest and Southwest regions chaired by the Prime Minister Chief Dr. Dion Ngute in Bamenda on Friday July 4th, 2025 said the session was a perfect opportunity to “understand exactly how much has been spent the way that is spent and how it has affected all our local population“
He went ahead to express full satisfaction with what has been achieved so far especially as this is an election year adding “It was important for this information to be made public because sometimes people sit, and they don’t know what is happening in the background.”
He called on other parts of the Northwest region to promote peace and root out criminals Who kidnapped and collect ransom from innocent citizens from their community so as to benefit from the PPRD. He cited Nkambe where he comes from as a perfect example.“Nkambe Where come from is one of the first beneficiaries because we had a conducive environment for those projects to kick off”
The Presidential Plan for Reconstruction and Development of the North West and South West Regions aims at improving the living conditions of the population and consolidating national unity and social cohesion.
The PPRD is a component of the National Development Plan 2020-2030, aimed at reducing the effects of the socio-political crisis for affected communities of the NW/SW regions.
The PPRD was born out of the National Dialogue and has received technical support from the UNDP. The total cost is estimated at some 2500 billion FCFA.
