
The Northwest executive bureau of the Cameroon Football Association 7, has set out the a road map to launch activities in the region. This was during a meeting held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at the Hilltop Hotel in Bamenda.
Modalities for registration of teams were set at 50,000 Frs to be registered into the league and 5,000 FRS per licence per player.

in a mark of encouragement, the regional president of Football Association 7 for the North West, Chi Chido Mitterand Francois, promised to pay the affiliation of the first two teams that indicates their willingness to join the North West Regional 7-a-side league.
Nji Nelson Chefor Vice President of the Northwest Bureau sitting in for the president said the 7-a-side league has not come to rival the 11-a-side or FECAFOOT but rather to compliment it. “The 7-a-side federation is coming to bridge the gap” that Young Cameroonians don’t get to play professional football in 11-a-side. He justified this by adding that he remains a communication officer with the Northwest regional Bureau of FECAFOOT, an indication that both are not rivals.

“7-a-side is more of technical than physical ability, …. It has to do more with the technical ability of the players” he added.
He announced that the regional championship will be launched in the region in days ahead to select a regional champion and select players for the national selection to take part in the world cup in 2026 in Mexico.
The national launch has been announced for Bamenda on December 10, 2025 at the Ntaafi Proximity Stadium in Bamenda I.
7-a-side is played on a natural or synthetic surface and is rectangular in shape, that is between 45 to 55 metres long and 25 to 35 metres wide.
Each team is composed of seven on field players, on of whom must be the goalkeeper.substitution is unlimited during the match and should not interfer with the game. Each match is played in two halves, depending on the category. 15 by 2 for junior, 20 by 2 and 25 by 2 for the senior or professional category.
The players have only a few seconds (05 seconds) to react to any action after the referee’s whistle like to take a penalty, free kick or throw or will lose the ball over to the opponent.
Each match is officiated by two officials running parallel to each other on the longer sides of the pitch.
