The 6th edition of the Bamenda I Unity and Peace tournament was launched this Sunday July 20, 2025 by the Division Officer for Bamenda I, Mboh Barnabas Patiangha in a colour ceremony at the Bujong School Field.

The D.O called on the population of Bamendankwe to continue to support the winning team at all levels to assure their development is guaranteed. He urged all to promote peace before, during and after the up coming presidential elections

Mayor Mbigha Felix used his opening remark to express his sincere thanks to the cup donor for the inspiration and commitment to ensure peace and development. He described him as a bold individual who defeats fear and challenge all odds for the development of his community, describing him as  “A pillar of development”

The Bamenda I Unity and Peace tournament the mayor said has brought peace and development to the municipality at a time when  other areas were battling with the crisis. 

He announced a mega youth rally to hold on Thursday July 24, 2025 at the Ntaafi Proximity Stadium. The rally he continued  will exposed the youths to many openings and opportunities for growth.

the cup donor, Dr. Peter Taniform used the opportunity encouraged the people of Bamendankwe to aligned themselves with winners, adding there is no need to change a winning team.

The kickoff of the first match of the 6th edition of the tournament was carried out by the cup donor, accompanied by the City Mayor, Paul Achombong.

The opening match was between last year’s winners, Ntaghang and the host team, Bujong United. The match ended 1-0 in favour of the holders.

The Bamenda I Peace and Unity tournament is on its 6th edition. The first two editions in 2020 and 2021 was won by Ntenefor and the next two by Atogulah and the last by Ntaghang.

15 teams are taking part in this year’s edition which will also combine volleyball, basketball and handball amongst other sports.

Over 3000 spectators brave the rains to witness the launching of the tournament. The finals will be played on August 24, 2025
