Young Women Encouraged to Embrace Singleness as a God-Given Season.

Young women in Bamenda have been encouraged to embrace singleness as a season of spiritual growth, healing, self-discovery and purpose, rather than simply waiting for marriage.

The message came on Sunday, August 16, 2026, during the one-day “Sound Though Single” Singles Retreat Forum organised by Manjong Mercy at the Apostolic Church, Azire.

The Christian retreat focused on identity in Christ, purpose, relationships, emotional well-being and mental health. Participants explored themes including “Discovering and Walking in Your Purpose as a Single” and “A Single Lady and Her Mental Health.”

They were reminded that being single does not diminish their worth or put their God-given purpose on hold, while healing and emotional wholeness are important before entering relationships.

Organisers say plans are underway to establish a mentorship and discipleship platform to provide continued spiritual guidance, fellowship and faith-based support for singles.

The retreat’s key message was that singleness is not a curse or incompleteness, but can be a season to draw closer to God, discover purpose and prepare for healthy, God-centred relationships.
