Supporters and well wishers of the Cameroon People Democratic Movement, CPDM in the North West Region have called on the head of state President Paul Biya to seek another mandate come 2025.
The call was made at the Bamenda Congress Hall as militants converged to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Mr. Biya’s ascension to power on Wednesday November 6, 2024.
Meeting at the Congress Hall, the birthplace of the CPDM party, the militants reaffirmed their supports to Mr. Biya While recounting what the North West Region has benefited from his stewardship since November 6, 1982.
They cited the University of Bamenda as one of his major achievements. UBa they said is the biggest university in Cameroon with over 12 schools and several International programs ongoing with Scholarship opportunities.
In his opening speech, the Subsection President of Mezam 1B, Cletus Anye Matoyah, highlighted some significant infrastructural projects such as the ongoing work on the Bamenda – Babaju road and the kumbo – Ndu – Misaje roads. He also talked of the upcoming Bamenda urban by-pass and the construction of the Bamenda gas plant which is currently 90% completed. The gas plant he added will significantly reduce the cost of domestic gas in the region.
In her keynote address, Senator Regina Mundi, acting Head of the CPDM permanent regional delegation, praised the President for his diplomatic achievements, not forgetting Philemon Yang’s recent achievement as the
President of the 79th United Nations General Assembly.
She said Mr. Biya emphasizes the importance of peace, adding, “the ballot box” is the only place where their differences in views are being expressed.
Senator Regina Mundi, also thanked Mr. Biya for extending an olive branch to armed separatists that have dropped their weapons and invited him to visit Bamenda.
She later stressed that Cameroon is an exceptional country led by an exceptional leader. To win future elections and consolidate his achievement for a better Cameroon, she called on President Paul Biya to seek another mandate in 2025.
CPDM militants left the Bamenda Congress Hall with one message; “ let’s all mobilize as one behind President Paul Biya to ensure Stability and Progress in Cameroon” for Peace and National Unity.
