The Social Democratic Front (SDF) has officially launched its presidential campaign today this ,27 September 2025, led by its candidate Hon. Joshua Nambangi Osih, amidst a vibrant atmosphere filled with traditional dances, prayers, and an enthusiastic crowd.
The venue was the Bamenda Grandstand, Commercial Avenue, in a city of historical significance to the party and an epicentre for the ongoing Anglophone crisis.

The Regional Chairman, Mayor Fonguh Cletus emphasized the SDF’s unique capability to address the Anglophone problem, stating, “We know that only the SDF can solve the Anglophone crisis in the Northwest and Southwest regions.”

He called on Bamenda residents to unite and vote for Osih, asserting that “every person in Bamenda is SDF.”
The chairman criticized the opposition, remarking, “No matter the noise from other parties, they cannot handle the Anglophone crisis better than the SDF.” He urged the public to reject candidates who have failed to bring development over their long tenures, specifically referencing a 93-year-old rival.
Osih’s campaign manager, Ben Fru Ndi, echoed these sentiments, reflecting on the party’s long-standing commitment to democracy and social justice. He recalled the late Ni John Fru Ndi’s legacy, emphasizing the SDF’s dedication to a democratic option for Cameroon.

During the launch, Hon. Osih outlined a comprehensive plan aimed at addressing the country’s pressing issues. He promised free identity cards delivered within 24 hours and free birth certificates for children up to age five. Additionally, he pledged that each family would receive land titles at no cost within the first year of his administration, alongside monthly financial assistance of 60,000 CFA francs for underserved families.
Other promises include reinstating free education and improving essential services such as electricity, water, and healthcare. Osih stated, “Cameroon needs a new system, and I am the only candidate proposing a federal system of government.”
He assured the crowd that the SDF would secure their votes, vowing that the mistakes of the 2020 elections would not be repeated. “No single vote will go missing,” he promised.
Osih highlighted the urgency of the upcoming election, encouraging citizens to vote “pink” for the SDF on October 12, 2025. He concluded by stating, “This is our opportunity for change. Let’s build a Cameroon where power belongs to the people.”
Hon. Osih is one of 11 candidates hoping to unseat the incumbent, President Paul Biya who has ruled Cameroon since 1982 and is running for his eight term on office
