Residents of Wakiki junction, Ntamulung neighbourhood in the Bamenda II municipality have expressed joy with one of theirs, Charles Kebua for installing solar street lamps on the main junction.
the neighbourhood has been in darkness for over six months following the breakdown of the transformer that supply it.

“Darkness caused us not to venture out after 6 pm, only those with generators and solar systems help to light up some parts of the quarter” one resident said.
The benefactor, Charles Kebua, a journalist who was born and raised in the neighborhood said “this is my own way of paying back to the community. It’s sad that we don’t have regular power supply and this causes a lot of insecurity.“
According to him, the lamps were acquired thanks to the efforts of another son of Ntamulung who assisted him to acquire them at affordable prices.
The first of the four lamps he acquired was installed and lighted the neighborhood in front of Safari the night of Thursday breaking Saturday. This drew suprise faces as many have been in darkness for several months.
The rest of the lamps will be installed within these days. It will be a great improvement to the security of the neighborhood vie n the current armed crisis in the region.
