The CPDM coordinator for the Northwest Region, former Prime Minister Philemon Yang has given the people of the region the clearest reasons why they should put their faith and trust in the candidacy of President Paul Biya come October 12, 2025.
Delivering the keynote speech during the regional launch of the CPDM campaign for the Northwest region, he described President Biya as “the most qualified” candidate of the 12 running.

He portrayed the opposition as spending its time “criticising President Paul Biya” and his age, adding we are “not here about age, we are here to talk about qualities, competences and abilities”.

“Criticizing the president is not a project, is not a plan, is not selling us a dream” he alluded, saying “our constitution allow that every candidate should be judged on the bases of their quality and competences” adding the ” Opposition lacks the experience of Paul Biya, have never been able to govern a village”
He outlined the achievements of Mr Biya as
the candidate of experience and wisdom, visionary, a man of dialogue, promoter of national unity and women’s and youth’s rights, great nation builder, a democrat that brought in multipatism, and a nationalist and humanists at the same time.
PM Yang pictured the CPDM candidate as the only one who has the future of Cameron at best. The best to preserve peace and unity, consolidate the peace and democracy we enjoy, the march towards emergence, improve on the purchasing power of the population, on the provision of social services, empowering women and youths,
accelerate digital innovations and sustainable development, protect Cameron’s natural resources, strengthen transport infrastructure and improve urbanisation.
Paul Biya he continued is the best candidate to continue with the decentralization process, promote cultural, artistic and sporting development and our influence in the world.
He concluded by asking the people of the Northwest to give President Biya only four things to achieve his stated goal. That is for cameroonians to be passionate about their country, Persevere and develop Cameron, be persistent and keep working for good things and to be patient, so as to build a great country.

The campaign launch ended with a motion of support for President Biya to lead the party to the polls.
The campaign will next move to the 34 council areas of the Northwest Region as from Sunday 28 September.
The CPDM candidate is running against 11 other candidate in the October 12, presidential election.
Beside the different top militants, the launching was massively attended by grass root militants, indicating great mobilisation by the CPDM
