Former supreme court judge, member of parliament for Akwaya in Manyu Division and president of the Peoples Action Party (PAP), Justice Ayah Paul Abine has passed on to eternity this day in Buea following a protracted illness.
The former CPDM militant became a staunched critic of the Biya regime when it changed the constitution to lift presidential term limits in 2008. He later resigned from the CPDM in 2011 and formed the PAP.
justice Ayah Paul was arrested in 2017, for advocating for a return to the federal system of government as it was in the 1960s.
News of his death this morning took Buea by surprise. His corpse is at the Buea Fako Funeral Home.
