Circulation between Bamenda and Santa has been blocked around Welcome to Bamenda after a trailer went out of control and blocked the entire road.
The trailer transporting paint developed a failed clutch and was in reverse when climbing the hill into Blue Moon. The driver succeeded to halt the vehicle just before it when into a small valley, but rather blocked all circulation on the road.
Heavy duty machineries from Buns construction company are presently at the site attempting to pull the vehicle and open up circulation.
Several elements of the police have been deployed at the site.
Thousands of passengers are presently stranded and unable to get into or out of Bamenda. The alternative road under construction is unpassable due to the heavy rains overnight
Commercial bikes and taxi have been making brisk business transporting passengers from the site into town.
