A nation wide mass vaccination campaign against Polio poliomyelitis has been announced for October 24 to 27, 2024 for children aged between 0 to 5 years.
The campaign will be door-to-door, in places of worship like churches and mosques, in schools, motor parks, health facilities, in public places and through door to door by health experts.
It should be noted that polio is a highly contagious diseases that mostly attack children. Polio has no cure and can lead to permanent paralysis. The disease is best prevented through vaccination.

This round of vaccination will take place in 21 health districts in the Northwest Region and across the 10 regions of the country. It aims to vaccinate all children within the age bracket against the crippling disease, catch up with the vaccination of those who missed or skipped it during routine vaccination.
Parents and guardians are urged to vaccinate their children from birth to 5 years to kick the disease out of Cameroon
