The heavy down pour of August 14th 2026, that resulted to floods in the Small Mankon neighborhood, has resulted to an unplanned relocation of the victims into an uncompleted building with no windows nor doors.
Mrs Lum Matilda Ngwa recounts that she had gone out to plait her hair, before receiving the heartbreaking news of the flood through a phone call from her neighbor. According to her, the shocking news only became abit bearable when she realized that all seven children she had left home were rescued.
The frustrating situation two weeks ago left mrs. Matilda and her family with no other option than packing into an uncompleted building with neither doors nor windows at mile VI Mankon, directly opposite Kingship Bamenda.
According to the victims, the pain is gradually being consoled by the presence of the kind neighbors around their new home, who have assisted them with clothes and electricity.
She specifically appreciated the church and pastor she has as neighbors while referring to them as “A set of Kind people” she has not met in her life before.
At press time, the situation of Mrs Matilda’s family is one that provokes pity and help.
