The day, Sunday December 8, 2024 started with the arrival of CMF members at the PC Bamenda Station ceremonial ground as early as 6 am. By 7:12 am the Presbyterial Secretary for Mezam accompanied by the National Delegate to the Rally , Mrs Bingwa Destiny Chebe handed the Bible quiz questions to the secretaries of the 21 groups that makes up CMF Mezam Presbytery. The quiz lasted one and a half hour.
This was followed by the evangelistic march pass from the east and west entrances into the church compound. The groups, from Mbuh and Akwena Prayer Cells joined the established groups and the CWF women from different congregations to march into the ceremonial ground. Proceeding this was the church service.
The Rev. Ngwa Hosea, presbyterial Secretary for Mezam reflecting from the gospel of Luke 21:36-37, admonished the men of the CMF to to be alert and on their guard against the deceptions of the world.
He explained that when Christ said “be on the alert, and pray always” is both a warning and an assignment to his followers. We can only succeed If we take this warning and assignment seriously.
Rev. Hosea said, during the time of Christ just like today they were many false teachings, Christ called on his followers to be alert and not to be carried away by foreign and doubtful habit that will contaminate our faith.
He painted these false preachers as scammers out for their own benefits. He beckoned on the Christians of the PCC to “focus on building our relationship with God and not leave it in the hands of others”
The Christians of the PCC are more alert about publishing negative information on the social media about their session, congregation and the church as a whole, gossiping and falsely accusing others. He advised them to instead work on building thier weaknesses. He asked CMF member to focused more on being good members, avoid backsliding, power tussle, disrespect of church authorities.
The second part of the rally saw the dedication of the group exco elected earlier this year, and the group patron and matrons. Amongst the patrons was HRH Fon Forchesirri III of Bamemdakwe.
The Rally also involved fund raising to facilitate the evangelistic mission of the CMF in Mezam, liturgical singing by all the groups and the handing over of presbytery, regional and national flags.
Also present at the rally were the Very Rev. Festus Asana, moderator emeritus of the PCC, the moderator representative for the Northwest Rev. Dr. Fai Micheal, the Presbytery Treasurer for Mezam, Rev. Wan Chin Christopher
